After 1 year as a majority, the harper gov't has turned Canada into a "Banana Republic". He warned us "you won't recognize Canada when I get through with it". I don't, and we have 3 more years to go.

I wonder what horrible experience harper had growing up in Canada? What was it that happened to him as a young man growing up in Canada, that he felt he has had to change so radically?

• Was it the availability of jobs that now under the harper gov't, we don't have anymore?

• Was it the guarantee that his parents, grandparents would have OAS for security in their aging years - now cut under the harper gov't?

• Was it the freedom of speech that he certainly took advantage of with his past affiliations and now scientists are gagged and environmentalists are threatened by the harper gov't?

• Was it the ethics and statesmanship of Canadian Politics that he couldn't stand and now we hear $10Billion lies about F35 jets and cooking the accounting books under the harper gov't.

• Was it the patriotism that Canadians felt for our Canada which is now threatened by infusion of American policies & practices & funding with the harper gov't?

• Was it the name of our government which was the Gov't of Canada, but is now the harper gov't as he madated the name change.

• Was it the transparency of gov't where Canadians could follow Parliament and now under the harper gov't most is done behind closed doors and in secrecy? 

• Was it our peace-keeping foreign policy and now with the harper gov't we illegally invaded a foreign nation. 

• Was it our strong National Security which has been attacked through Election Fraud during this past election and the harper gov't refuses to call for an Independent Inquiry to find the criminals?

• Was it the model Democracy that other nations admired and which today is being eroded as the harper gov't overrides democratic votes and decisions (ie. CWB) 

harper grew up in Canada, enjoying all the attributes and opportunities of this great country. And yet in 1 short year, he has made changes that have destroyed that wonderul life that Canada could and did offer. harper got to where he is today, because of how Canada was. How very sad for thousands of Canadians who won't experience the amazing life Canada had prior to the harper gov't.

CBC TV talking hair-do's drive me crazy!

It's the May Day Event World Wide. Millions are out in support of it and also to oppose austerity being forced upon all of us by the 1%.

CBC TV is at Parliament Hill to interview protesters there. Anchor Carole MacNiel on CBC was asking a protester "'why protest' since all reports say Canada came out of the economic downturn of 2008 very well and our economy is doing well?" I had to write to her at CBC ---

Just heard you say that Canada, according to all reports is doing better than most, in reference to the economy. You live in a nice bubble. 

What are the statistics for food bank use in Canada; is it declining? I guess that 1 million (+ or -) just haven't been told how good things are. Billions spent on decrepit antique subs, new war ships, F35's, G8 & G20 summits and, yes, bank bailouts. It's all good in Canada.

Last week in Walmart I saw an senior woman (easily in her 70's and maybe 80's) pushing a broom around the store; tag said she was Walmart maintenance team. When she left I asked the cashier if she was working because she had to or just to keep busy. Answer: she is a senior and she is single. Single seniors live a life of poverty, and she was working because she HAD to. The cashier also said that this lady was not alone, many single elderly are working because they have to.

I hear of all the Walmart expansions and now Target coming into Canada with jobs. These jobs will not be going to the youth who are getting educated and seek greener and more rewarding pastures than the service industry provides. These jobs will be for the elderly and less advantaged. By the way, in Kelowna, BC the minimum wage is now a whopping $10.25. Try living on that with the high cost of living.

Since the encounter at Walmart I've talked with other people about the issue with seniors being single and a whole new world opened up. Kelowna has many seniors whom I thought they were all doing well. Nothing could be further from the truth. 

There's a side to Kelowna that most people are not aware of; a poverty hiding below the glitz's of wineries, golf courses and gated retirement living. Now, thanks to Facebook and posting about this issue I've learned that it is present coast to coast. Single seniors are leaving Alberta. As the cost of living climbs these seniors are looking for more affordable places to locate, and BC is not an option.

Yes if you travel in the circle of the 1% you would think all is well, but if you open your eyes a whole different picture emerges.

These fraudulent election activities are a harsh reminder that as Canadians we cannot take the integrity of our democracy for granted. Neither our individual democratic rights nor our collective responsibility to defend them ended on Election Day May 2, 2011. True democracy is a 24-7 pursuit.

Today, I am proud to announce the Council of Canadians has launched the Democracy 24-7 Legal Fund to raise the funds necessary to pursue justice for all voters who were affected. Court challenges can be long and costly, and we need to raise $240,000 now.

I'm asking you and all concerned Canadians across the country who believe there was election fraud to contribute. Coup d'état in Canada - THE PLAN

OK so we get 10,000 people from across the country to parliament hill, rush it while the evil doers are there and take control. Simultaneously groups take control of constituency offices. A coup d'état without a shot being fired.

In a make believe land, because we could never encourage something like that in Canada.

It has to be in a land where a corrupt emperor through fraudulent elections supported by evil money hungry corporations has taken power. This evil bunch is hell bent on mining all resources, raping the country of resources for all generations, selling to the highest bidder as the sun is blocked out by pollution and mutants emerge from conservative riding's, saliva dripping from their fangs as they look for people to devour in the insatiable apatite, feeding their old wrinkled bodies...oops, there I go again...

CANADIANS WANT INQUIRY INTO ROBOCALL SCANDAL

Dear Prime Minister and Members of Parliament:

It should be clear from the numerous rallies that happened in cities across Canada this past weekend, Canadians want answers about the Robocall scandal and the many other complaints surrounding 2011 electoral processes that were studiously ignored by Elections Canada when they were lodged. From coast to coast, Canadians called for an independent inquiry into these matters.

According to a Postmedia News poll conducted last week, 75 per cent of Canadians support an independent inquiry with judicial powers to look into the Robocall affair. Those Canadians cannot be said to be involved in “baseless smears” such as the opposition is accused of doing. Canadians are simply calling for a rigorous inquiry, an inquiry with teeth.

While the Prime Minister is correct when he says that Elections Canada are busy investigating right now and are invested by law to do so, Elections Canada will not obtain all of their investigative powers for at least another six months, when related legislation might (or might not) be passed. Moreover, Canadians have seen with the In and Out scandal of 2006 how seriously and for what length of time Elections Canada can become bogged down in acrimonious litigation, right up to the Supreme Court.

I hear the voices all across this country saying that whether or not the election was stolen, this affair must be investigated fairly, fully, and without delay. I call upon you to establish an independent inquiry with judicial powers, or indeed a royal commission, and to do so immediately.

Think Election Fraud only happens in far away places with little dictators in power? Guess again! As evidence points to something deceitful taking place in the 2011 Federal Elections in Canada.

Calls were placed to people directing them to wrong voting stations. People misrepresented themselves as Election Canada officials, votes were taken by people with no voter registration cards or addresses, a total violation of the election act, and the 'elected' party says the opposition is on a smear campaign.

31,000 Canadian have contacted Elections Canada about wrong-doings and to date, the only party under investigation is the Conservative party.




Protesters gathered in 27 cities across Canada Sunday to demand a full public inquiry into the federal election "robocall" scandal.
