STOP THE TARSANDS WOLF KILL

Unethical . . . corrupt?
“Why has the harper government apparently become the spokeman for one resource at the exclusions of everything else in this country that matters?”

Has Big Oil or worse, infiltrated and corrupted the harper government? Large tracts of the the tarsands have been sold to China. I’m not an expert, but to me, could that not signify a real National Security threat? Even CSIS Director Richard Fadden has expressed concern.

Controversial tarsand breeds horrific wolf cull.
The tarsands have been controversial since the 70’s and remain controversial especially now. Today, along with global pollution, Canadian wildlife is being eradicated. Today, hundreds of Northern Alberta wolves are being poisoned with strychnine because of the industrialization of the tarsands in our northern boreal forest region.

The reasoning is unscientific and senseless -
Proponents of the tarsands claim wolves are threatening the caribou herds which is not at all the facts and science. Regardless, strychnine is set out to poison the wolves. The spin off from this is that smaller animals are also being killed by this poison. They either eat it themselves or alternatively, eat animals that have already died from the stychnine. In the near future, thousands more wolves will be killed by aerials shooters.

Other wildlife affected . . .
The caribou are being threatened and risk becoming extinct. This is not because of the wolves, but due to the loss of the caribou habitat through the industrialization of the tarsands. Hundreds of bears are also being shot as they wander into oil camps that are failing to contain their garbage. And still more birds are dying from landing on toxic tailings ponds and lakes that result for the bitumen extraction process.

Does the Alberta Tar Sands Industry Pollute?
The Scientific Evidence

Cancers and deformities -
Some of these toxic ponds and lakes are leaching into the Athabasca River, a water resource for many. The toxins are causing cancers in those who source this water for survival. Fort Chipewyan residents have "been suffering for more than ten years from surprisingly high rates of cancer". Animals and fish are being found with deformities that are traced to the toxins. Cancers are rampant and they are cancers that can be traced to oil processes.

The tarsands are a catastrophe nationally and globally! Please watch the video below and take action.

CRY WOLF: An Unethical Oil Story

TAKE ACTION:

Stop the unscientific wolf cull
Credo action: Tell the Canadian government: Stop your tar sands wolf kills! - Over 200,000 voices in opposition to the wolf killings.

DeSmogBlog petition on Change.org - Tell Canada's federal Environment Minister Peter Kent, who considers the cull "an accepted if regrettable scientific practice," to put an end to the reckless wolf slaughter.
Alberta Provincial petition - Put some pressure on at the provincial level too, by signing this petition to Frank Oberle, Minister of Alberta's Sustainable Resource Development and Fiona Schmiegelow from the University of Alberta.

NWF Action Center - American residents can go here to send a letter to their senator or representative in order to connect the dots between the Keystone XL tar sands pipeline and the wolf cull. Also watch National Wildlife Federation scientist David Mizejewski on the Today Show and read NWF's report on the plan to poison wolves to protect tar sands interests.

Best Ceviche Recipe with Bull Shark - By Oscar - YouTube

The cooking show by Oscar is better than anything on TV, first it's on a beautiful beach, it's warm and birds are singing. There are drinks being served and when the food is done, we all get to eat it. Then have retire to sun lounge on the beach, now that's living. Oscar puts on a cooking demonstration and a drink mixing clinic weekly and it's all included at the Grand Sirenis Resort and Spa.

Ceviche (also spelled cebiche or seviche) is a seafood dish popular in the coastal regions of the Americas, especially Central and South America, and the Philippines. The dish is typically made from fresh raw fish marinated in citrus juices such as lemon or lime and spiced with chilli peppers. Additional seasonings such as onion, salt, coriander/cilantro, and pepper may also be added.

Ceviche is usually accompanied by side dishes that complement its flavors such as sweet potato, lettuce, corn, or avocado. As the dish is not cooked with heat, it must be prepared fresh to minimize the risk of food poisoning.

I could eat this everyday it was so good...amazing how the acid in citrus 'cooks' the fish.

This is at the Grand Sirenis Resort and Spa in the Riviera Maya, Mexico.

Punta Emilia Sea Food Restaurant at Grand Palladium Riviera Resort & Spa is right on the beach! It's fantastic! The sound of the waves lapping on shore - the food was excellent. Then there were the little visitors - Raccoons. A mother with 2 kits were visiting us and were so gentle & friendly. They were so cute!

During our stay there was no limit on À la carte dining and some restaurants didn't even need reservations, though you could have a wait.

Mesoamerican Barrier Reef - YouTube HD

The video is filmed on the Yucatan coast of Mexico , from Playa Del Carmen, Riviera Maya, Akumal, Costa Maya and Mahahual.

The Mesoamerican Barrier Reef System (MBRS, also simply known as the Mesoamerican reef and often abbreviated MAR) stretches over 1000 km from Isla Contoy at the tip of the Yucatán Peninsula down to the Bay Islands of Honduras.

The reef system includes various protected areas and parks including the Belize Barrier Reef, Arrecifes de Cozumel National Park, Hol Chan Marine Reserve, Sian Ka'an biosphere reserve, and the Cayos Cochinos Marine Park. This reef structure is the largest coral reef in the Western Hemisphere and the second largest barrier reef in the world.

The permit that you see here are HUGE! I was snorkeling in about 3' of water and they swam into the bay and started feeding! They were over 2' in diameter! Was I surprised and a little nervous! Glad there were only 2!

Caribbean swimming with sea turtle

We started the day around 6:30am watching a spectacular sunrise off the beach at Barcelo Maya Tropical in the Riviera Maya. We had a quick breakfast and were on the way to Akumal Bay at 8am to see if there were turtles to see.
There were, we saw many of them and without disturbing them, we were able to get close and even swim with the turtles.
An all inclusive vacation can be what ever you make it, relaxing on a beach for a week or taking in some of the amazing excursions and sights, what ever you do, a lifetime of memories are created.
