Wild Clematis in the forest after the rain

Filmed May 4, 2012 at Mission Creek Park...

The Wild Clematis was the first delicate flower we came upon. This one is mauve, but apparently there are also yellow ones. They grow in predominantly shaded areas in the forest, using other trees for structure. They do not have tendrils like most vines.

Earth Day 2012 - United States

What better day to explore . . .

Earth Day is perfect for checking out some of the unique features of the USA. We traveled around the US for nearly 6 weeks and more than 10,000 miles an found an amazingly diverse and beautiful country.

Sadly as is much of our Earth, the USA is also facing huge challenges as the environment takes a back seat to momentary monetary opportunities. The environment is the most valuable asset we have so preserving it is a no brainier.
